I cannot find anything about replacement parts or repair. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place but can someone help spoonfeed me? I gather I need to replace the flash assembly but I don't know where to get one.

Alright so basically here is your problem: planned obsolescence. It is not repairable, I mean, it is, but you will need a parts camera with a working flash and be very careful and observant while working to take it apart and figure out how to detach and reattach the flash unit. Because it was never meant to be repaired. Like, ever. I'm sure someone like precision camera repair (or try this bullshit https://shop.panasonic.com/lumix-pro-services) would do it for you but FYI, just taking the lens out of a ricoh GR compact to clean it costs $200, so repair costs would probably equal or exceed the value of the camera.

Olympus cameras are generally much better made than lumix cameras, and generally as cheap/small. Just an FYI.

I think I found the part and the flash is integrated into the entire housing so it's one of the two expensive parts to replace, with the other being the actual lens.
I tried to delicately broach the flash with her and for whatever reason she seems pretty dead set on using it every time she takes a picture of an item (she does retail arbitrage).
I think I'll have to just sell this one and teach her to transfer photos from her phone, and maybe replace her current aging one with one of the models with a nicer camera.

I think you can get the camera and lens pair for just over $100 and it will produce far superior results than the Panasonic.

I'm not a photography fag or a phone fag, I've still got an iPhone 6S+ while I wait for a less cucked phone to get to American markets. But my understanding was that one of those newer smartphones with the triple camera thing might be best for a compromise on quality and ease of use, and she could use a newer phone anyway.

Phones are a scam dude. The cameras still take the same blurry shit photos IRL outside of ideal test scenes. They just zoom in/out slightly better. There's no reason to use anything more than an iphone SE, still.

If they want more than the camera is worth then the best possible thing you could replace it with would be another PnS like a sony RX100V or canon powershot G1 X mark II/II.

If I wanted to troll someone I would recommend they buy a Fuji X100V or similar. I still remember asking for recs here for a friend who wanted a camera with a super 35 sized sensor for under 1000 bucks, with no recording limits that could do 4K and was brand new. Fuckers made me recommend a X-T30. Luckily I found out about the overheating before he pulled the trigger. Learned a lesson about fujislugs and brandfags in general that day. I ended up telling him to get an a6400 and he's happy with it.

If it's only the flash bulb, you can find (chink) replacement xenon flash tubes from amazon / aliexpress / ebay / whatever for cheap (and from the usual electronics part suppliers from bit more) but by 10sec googling I did not find which specific type is used in your camera.
