>>4192667> keep taking photos, and don't ever post on 4chan for criticism. realize that photography is another dead-end hobby and there's no reason to feel bad about your photos looking bad to others.I disagree. Posting your photos on instagram, reddit or whatever will only get you praise because everyone is afraid to tell you it looks like garbage fearing that they'll get shit on for 'hating' or 'being jeallous' or something, and it will have consequences like getting hate, dislikes, downvotes etc.
As much as this place sucks in multiple ways, one great thing here is that there is anonimity and people will say what they really think, whether it's good or bad
Of course a lot of what you'll get as criticism is some gearfaggot's shitty opinion and you can dismiss a good part of the comments in their entireties
BUT
This is still one of the few places where there's room for negative criticism in the sense of actually telling you your stuff is flawed
I remember when I started photographing and I posted like 30 photos here
Some guy told me they were almost all shit, but he then proceeded to point out what I was doing wrong in each one of those shots and I improved greatly
Had I posted on Reddit everyone would say they were great
Either that or I simply wouldn't get a shitload of upvotes, but no one would actually tell me they were bad, much less WHY they were bad
And I would never have improved, at least not so fast
Some 6 years after that (3 of which I almost didn't shoot at all) I posted like 10 or 15 photos on this board and guess what?
The faggots loved it
And yes, I'm not gonna lie: feeling unanimously validated by strangers on the internet might sound weird
But think that these people could all say the harshest things on your photos and still they chose to praise it
>feelsgood.exeFeels way better than getting praised on instagram by people who know dogshit about photography and where literally no one will comment it looks bad
