Occasionally I think about ditching my wireless setup and just keeping it on top of the camera, but then there's always branches and shit in the way that it's best angled a bit to the left or right and so on.
Since I can shoot the flash straight on at the bug rather than it twisting through many tunnels and angles of reflection and diffusion I believe it lets the flash fire less powerfully too and refresh faster.
I could see myself upgrading to a bigger softbox type thing attached to the flash, probably DIY because I haven't found any for sale that I like.
Some day after that maybe I would invest even more money to try to get a multi-flash system going so they can shoot even less powerfully and recharge even faster, and other advantages.
