I will be buying my first camera tommorow and it is the Canon EOS Rebel T7. I hear nothing but praise for this camera and I hear that it’s good for beginners. Is this true. Also I want to take like super high quality pictures of environment,people, and gundam kits and other nerdy action figure stuff so is this the right camera for me?

No buy an SL3 if anything. I have the T7. On one had it's like learning with training weights so when you move to something better it feels very easy and you have the skill. On the other hand it can be kind of disappointing to see so much noise in your shots. Also remember EF lens is a dead system. Pic rel I took on a t7

Seconding most of this except for the dead EF part and the noise claims. I'm pretty sure it's the same sensor, although at ISO 100 and 200 the SL3 is cleaner for some reason (I'm guessing the image processor).
Avoid models that are T# where # is a number. T#i models are mostly fine and so are SL ones. T# models tend to be crippled in rather imaginative ways or have stupid corner cutting decisions to meet a price point. Example: plastic mount. Sony tier but at least it's not on a flagship.

plastic mounts are actually a good thing, since if you drop the camera it only destroys the lens instead of both the lens bayonet and the camera's socket. if they get loose you can weld on more plastic easily.

I was talking about the RAW capabilities, but maybe the JPEG processing in it is utter trash. I'd be shocked if that was the processed RAW.

It's not the resolution that bothers me so much but the phone-like crunchiness of it all. Like it can't do any gradation. You can see fine detail like those pine needles but there's really harsh transitions from white to black as if contrast was pushed all the way. Reminds me of when they were touting some phone as being "as good as the R5" and yet it all looked crunched.

If you can afford, buy whatever you fancy. For a beginner any camera which gives enough control to experiment and ergonomics to keep on it is good. Technical quality is nice and easy part. What is difficult is shooting well exposed and composed interesting subjects in good light at right moment.

That's where the crippled T7 rears its ugly head. You know, in some variants the hot shoe lacks a center pin, meaning the only way to get manual flash control is to spend almost as much on a flash as you did on the camera.

I hope you're not buying that thing new. For the price it goes for, you could get a proper used camera. Low end Canon bodies don't even have AF microadjustment so if it's off all your pictures will be.

Well I'm not a paparazzi so there's not really any moment I lose. Besides the flash also has TTL mode. I mostly use it for macro and I've gotten the hang of my settings for that so that's not such a big deal anymore.
You're not using flash for street photography are you?
