how do they do it? How does Canon has such great color science that their jpg's are so good its even pointless to shoot in raw?

they base their colors on making japanese women look less sickly so the end result is kind of an overly warm piss filter that you subconsciously associate with retro, false nostalgia bullshit

this is the untouched jpeg from a 16 yo camera. i think its impressive. you can take this up with any non flagship camera of today, and any iphone camera

The reds are all orange tinted an the orange tint increases with luminosity. Blues are saturated and a cyan tint increases with luminosity. Standard canon hue twisting.
