I am starting to realize art nudes are extremely pretentious.

There are huge industries dedicated to showing and appreciating the beauty of naked people and the human form. Yes porn is a spectrum but it also includes nicely shot photos of naked people you can appreciate the human form.

Art nudes however are always these very oddly posed and lit things that seem to put the posing and lighting way ahead of anything else.

What am I missing here? why do art nudes even exist in photography?
They made perfect sense in painting, sculpture etc but photography they just feel extremely pretentious, like a naked person isnt good enough, it must have some bizarre pose and extreme lighthing as well. Is softcore porn not just actually what an art nude should be in photography.
