Half-frame is still just normal 135 film, while APS has a special cartridge with a built in exposure counter, magnetic strip for recording metadata on each exposure, and other bullshit.
On the subject of Ektar, I've been wanting to shoot a roll or two, but I'm too cheap for current color film prices.
I'm just shooting bulk loaded B&W.
