>>4203012You wouldn't be the first person to find ugly noise, people have found it starts around ISO 1600, which in terms of the actual light gathered is closer to ISO 1200 because fuji cameras run darker. Fuji fans like it for the grain effect. Other people would rather have a digital grain effect on a slider, not baked in to thousands of dollars worth of camera gear, or just shoot real film.
>DXO PureRaw>"recovered" detailThat's the thing, pureraw doesn't recover detail, it generates it, similar to how phones attempt to have better cameras than they do. Most programs just demosaic using available info, pureraw fills the gaps in the CFA based on what it thinks should be there, not what the camera actually captured.
If you "need AI" to make your $1600 camera look as good as everyone elses $1600 camera why not just use micro four thirds, it's smaller, cheaper, faster, has more features, and an AI workflow can fix it up as well as anything. There's also no reason for AI to work better on one brand than another, if it can invent more detail for fuji it's just some data exposure away from inventing even more detail for everything else, and logically should make all cameras perfectly equal once it reaches a certain level, although you will no longer be seeing captures of anything that ever was, but camera-aided CGI.
>>4203025I only ever used a gopro since everyone seems to use hella expensive housings and gets the seals redone every 2 years, and I don't want to risk anything expensive on cheap camera bubbles
