First camera I ever shot film with. The first one I had broke and I bought another cause they're dirt cheap and I like the pics they make. Is there a camera that's similar but better or should I just stick to my 1974 Minolta?

I did notice some shutter curtain drag / out of sync. Is that difficult / expensive to have fixed?

I have a Canon F-1 laying around but it needs to be checked and serviced for sure.

Are the lightmeters better on those by any chancer? The one in my picrel is alright. I use the lghtmtr app on iOS and found that it's kinda accurate most of the time when I meter for the shadows. I tend to put the circle with the lowest part more or less touching the needle. I've been shooting a shitton lately so I don't have any more reference points yet.

Was about to say, I love my OM1. I have an OM10 that used to be my grandad's but the mirror's stuck halfway and I've never found a battery for it.

I honestly don't know. I only use it for black and white. I like it because it forces me to use manual controls because I like the lower f-stops for depth of field shots.
this was ilford hp5 plus 400 iso

I feel fortunate to have gotten my fully functional near-mint SRT-201 for like $40 a few years ago. film photography really took off thanks to zoomer tiktokers, even shitty 40-year-old cameras are overpriced now.

Kek, I just checked on eBay and you’re right. I can’t believe I got mine for $15 back like 5 years ago, even still I think I overpaid. The glass is good but nothing special (also skill issue on my end)

Save up a little and get an XK body
They make SRT's feel light and you get 1/2000sec for harsh summer daylight

Yeah mirror stuck halfway like that just means the battery's dead. Get Duracell DL1/3N, 10$ on amazon for a two-pack. That's what I bought for my OM-10.
