Are you high? That’s more or less what working with 62mp sony files is like. Granted you used a good lens not trash like that 55mm f1.8. If you’re not going to aim for GM glass that exceeds 70 lp/mm in the center don’t bother

digital medium format would be more detailed than that. he’s right, it’s just like pricey full frame. film is grainier and lower resolution than digital for stills. the thing digital can not do is shoot video with this amount of detail.

theoretically movie frames could be as large as 4x5”. digital is struggling to do 8k with minimal rolling shutter.

lol sony GM lenses aren't that good, you just fell for the marketing because it has "GM" in the branding. try some real lenses like zeiss, CV, schneider

You seem to be ignoring the 'IMAX' of '70mm IMAX' which makes it a 15-perf film. That's more than 3 times the size of standard 70mm film.

Shooting in 6x6, 6x7, 6x8, and 6x9 will provide the same resolution if not even better.
But none of it matters if you don't have the glass to capture it on.
You're not going to find (reasonably priced) cinema/IMAX grade lenses available at a consumer-grade level for medium format cameras.
