Success is behind the hundreds of thousands of hours it took networking and making unsuccessful art before you get something that sticks.
The worse your skill\product is, the better your networking needs to be and vice versa.
You have shit skills and no networking. Success isn't one good project away, it's a lifetime of doing things you'll never do away.
IF you want to succeed, the best chance you have is to get into the best university for film making you can, and not the one with the best facilities, but the one with the best ties to media groups and influential people. Then be a good little kiss ass for 4 years, do 3 times as much work as you're asked, make friends with absolutely everyone, go to every event, befriend the lecturers, do not fucking stop, do not drink to excess unless the person inviting you to do so is in a position of power, do not slack, ensure every single person you bump into around the uni knows your name, even the cafe & shop workers.
This advice works for literally any career in the world, anyone can do it, and it only costs 50k and 4 years.
