I was driving with my girlfriend towards Vandenberg yesterday around midnight.

We both saw a huge light, pale white and bright that shot down and immediately up again into the sky at a speed multiple times what any jet would be capable of. The entire thing happened within a second but my girlfriend and I both gasped at the same time, we both saw it.

This is the part that vexes me, we both saw something different. We describe the same movement, colour, brightness but not the same shape. I saw something extremely wide and huge, whereas she saw something more like on the top left of the image where it is arrow shaped.

It could not have been lightning as there were no clouds in the area capable of making lightning at the time.

I felt upset and disturbed in a way that I haven't really felt before, I can't explain it. Then further up she saw a man in the bushes that had a flat head that looked like an upside down triangle that came to a point at the bottom. It was shaped by a medium thickness and medium gray colour of scribbles that created the body and shape, and it was standing on the side of the road. It didn't blend in with anything else in the surroundings, clearly as its own being.

I can't find anything online about what I personally saw with the bright light, I didn't see the man of the second part but my girlfriend gasped and started crying in a way that I've never seen before. We're not schizophrenic, we don't take or need meds.

Before my girlfriend saw the man, I already felt electrified, and my hair was standing up in anticipation of something happening.

To those of you who are well versed in UFOs or demons, can you give me any sort of explanation to what we saw?
