Hey op, that's a cute kitty cat. Is that a kitten or is he just smol?
It:s like this: you look at the cat, and you get a warm feeling in that dead heart of yours, and you want to share that feeling with the world. I think you're a good man for doing that. Problem is, a snapshit of a cat won't do that, but the good news is that you *can* take pictures that carry that emotion.
Anyways, here's the deal: your photo has a subject, so you're already better than all the nophoto homosexuals in this itt thread. So all you need to do at this point is to think before you shoot.
What was it about the cat in that particular moment in time that made you want to take a picture? Was it how calm he was? Was it the cute pose? Did his fur look extra soft and fluffy/sleek and shiny under that light? Learn to figure out this part faster than it takes you to pick up a camera.
Now that you know *why* you want to take a picture, you need to figure out how to show that in a photo. Put the camera away for a second and just look at the kitty. Say i wanted to take a picture of a cat sleeping. Is he doing so in a funny pose? Focus on the pose, stop down your lens to get the whole cat in focus. In your photo i'd rather focus on the cat's face, paws and tail all bunched together, wide open for that extra softness.
tl;dr figure out what is it about the cat that you like and how to show it, then have fun. And good luck op.
