Dude this sucks. It just now occurred to me how photography has totally gone to shit due to the influence of people like steven shore, garry winogrand, susan sontag, and their various friends and the people their friends decided to enable and uplift. It's totally divorced from what people actually like and is now dedicated to treating ordinary americans and europeans like zoo animals and portraying them as such.

Please elaborate on this. I now know that this guy exists and even seen some of his photos. Nothing really changed for me. Eggleston that was brought up in OP is interesting because his pictures are a window into the past. They are much, much worse than pictures left by Vivian Maier aestetically. But they play the same role because time has passed. Are you bullish on Soth? Will that be eventually interesting? It probably will, I see no reason why it wouldn't.
