>>4216295The brutalist construct is meant to contrast with the vegetation. The vegetation at the top is dense while the opposite corner's is sparse, which is meant to show erosion due to modern expansion, and the callous destruction of "less important" (located at the bottom) forms of nature.
There is more negative space at the left because:
1) That's where the light is coming from, which when coupled with the space, is supposed to indicate that it's the direction we're still facing/heading towards.
2) To show much more of the sparse vegetation than the dense vegetation, which is supposed to emphasize how much has already been eroded.
The whole scene is very nearly greyscale, to give a bleak mood.
Of course, I didn't actually place any of the elements into the frame and I was limited in where I could stand, so you could argue that it's not as deliberate as I'm making it sound.
If this was simply an appreciation of brutalism (which I do like), then I would not have included the leaves, and yes the building would have been centered. Thanks for the feedback though.
This odd-looking building is the Singtel Ayer Rajah Telecommunications Tower.
