Disclaimers-I used the most popular flickr group for each film type. This is 35mm film. Portra users were clearly seething at not being the most popular groups so have made a single portra group for everything combined. I didnt include it as its cheating but that lone group had 79 for all portra 35 and 120 film combined and lots of portra shooters only tagged themself in this group.
Thoughts:
black and white films are dominating
kodak gold is the only colour film doing really well.
The biggest mixed film groups on flickr have about 1000-1200 uploads per week but that includes 120 film and lots of other niche films, also not everyone tags the film type but this data still gives a good indication of trends. Also the shots without the film tagged are usually bad snapshits.
I checked the top 6 film groups that are a mix of everything and they were about 45% black and white on average.
