>>4215135The way color film works is it's 3 layers of film and the "grains" are actually little globs of colored dye. So the color is made out of millions of tiny overlapping filters, and if the globs of dye are big and not enough light hit it to activate the globs, there's not enough overlap and you see wrong colors.
