>>4215390I have a bridge camera (S200EXR) and have been meaning to move to ILC for the past couple years.
The awful AF and zoom range (30.5-436mm eq) make me shoot in telephoto range almost exclusively. Thankfully it's a manual zoom and not PZ. Looking at my picture library almost everything would fit in 70-200 range. I'll admit it's nice having access to the 100-400mm range in a walkable package like on hikes. Even with a 3MP 1/1.6" sensor (4x crop factor) the lens is soft and prone to CA so strong it looks artistic under extreme circumstances. Since it's a super-zoom it's also pretty slow and raising iso is a dead end, I have gotten comments here noticing the noise from thumbnails at iso 200, and 400+ is unusable.
Some of these issues are due to the camera just being old, it's older than the original X-Pro after all, but others are not fixable without moving to ILC or maybe "premium compacts" so I wouldn't really recommend them to anyone now. I also hate PZ.
Have a snapshit.
