can someone help me photoshop?

i want to turn the washed out blue of the clothes to a natural black and make the sitting kid's vest fully red

thought it would be but easy rly do it, maybe im retarted

oh buddy u wanna talk about bad scans, this was the original image. i used some AI upscaling and generative filled edges to get it to what it is now thats why some of it is sharp and some looks like a painting if u look close. anyway this'll be used in a doc with some film grain on top just needs to be good enough for 7 seconds

compare the pics. besides a few glitches like the glasses it guessed all that detail remarkably well. throw some film grain over top of that and a decent color grade and no one will ever know. they just know, oh cool they found a nice hd scan of an old photo

every doc is dishonest. a ai upscaled family pic with some generated walls and edges is the tiniest concern

also maybe u dont edit vid but the point is it's wider than it needs to be so I can fit it into the frame and get a nice zoom without shitty black bar edges. It actually works great in most cases just this image is giving me trouble

attached is another miracle case. now i can actually crop in and do closeups on the faces. no copes can deny this

This is the best i could do, did it in ca 5 minutes so i dont doubt you can do better if you follow these steps (and maybe add a few steps if you want) 1)image>adjustments>curves and fuck with them a little until clothes look dark, 2)image>adjustments>levels and fuck with them a little, 3) lasso tool the vest>ctrl+j>(on the vest layer)image>adjustment>colour balance>cyan to red>then fuck with the vibrance and saturation until the red fits the rest of the photo.
4) now you can either continue fucking with the red more or just ctrl+alt+shift+e and then filter>camera raw filter and finish up the photo. Hopefully this helps :) sorry if the quality is bad btw, had to compress the photo

what does that even mean. its funny bc the doc is the only way the subject is gonna be remembered, its a p low stakes local artist profile. maybe u can't see the vision without seeing it in person. I bet ai enhanced shots have already whizzed by your eyes in docs you've seen already. the core of the photo is the same - the poses, the ffaces, the general outline - and the details are enhanced so u can crop in further on the faces. it enhances the memory if anything lol. u can relate to a close up of a face a lot better than u can a blurry ass 1950s wide shot

as i said - thats exactly why i posted it here. bc it doesn't yet, i'm asking for help to push it over that exact line. if youre honest with yourself you'll admit it's not that far off. again people underestimate the impact of film grain and the shot only lasting 10 seconds as part of a doc that includes thousands of images

If it's among thousands of photos it honestly doesn't make sense as a documentary copying EoE. There is nothing dishonest about colorizing it or stating what it is. You are either making edutainment or archival information. You seem confused what it should be. If it's worth talking about it'll be archival. If it's another worthless edutainment "documentary" it'll have more time spent on it than total time watched.
