I'm just a hobbyist, I always used Lightroom on my computer to (humbly) work on my pictures. Today in a store I picked up a book about B&W numeric photography. The guy was explaining step by step what seemed to me a pretty complicated process inside of Photoshop, using a lot of different layers and all (it seemed complicated to me because I never used PS). I know LR implemented layers recently, but I guess Photoshop is still more powerful about it ; anyway reading the book it made me feel like Photoshop is kinda necessary if you want top notch pictures. Is it true ? Or could you just stick with LR even for more complicated tasks ?
Subsidiary question : to produce good stuff (not necessary "pro level pictures" but you know.. just good pictures, which is nice already) do you really need a heavy use of layers, even in LR ?
Thanks
