The main issue with film, is the noise(grain). Grain becomes visible when printing about 5x or larger, which is about 40x50 with 8x10 sheet film. While this very larger, I can print that large with my s1r pixel shift files.
Also, have you even used a LF camera before? They're a giant pain in the ass, and only allow for certain subjects to shot. Don't forget that DOF is thin its basically unusable, unless you stop down, but not too much bc that ruins your slight resolution advantage. Meanwhile I can shoot hand held pixel shift of still subjects or moving subjects on a tripod without any artifacts . Don't forget that 8x10 is minimum $8 per sheet for b/w and $22 for color, plus processing/chemistry. yeah, no thanks.
