Keep in mind that while FWC is a hard line, acceptable sensor noise is somewhat arbitrary. That’s why DxO and PtP yield different values for the same data. Scaling and NR alter the result for any given test as well.
So a claim of 16ev may represent a real improvement, or simply the parameters of a specific test.
