And when it happens your replacement parts can't be remanufactured by a machinist.
That is before going into all the switches and ports that need to work
there really isn't a digital camera out there that is as reliable as an all mechanical leaf shutter camera. If it breaks, a new gear or spring can be made. They are fairly generic parts. if you can solder, maybe a small sensor PNS could be kept alive for a long time, but not any sort of DSLR or focal plane shutter period.
