The webb is a high powered IR telescope capable of imaging proto-galaxies that no longer exist, hubble is visible+UV. Not even comparable.

The gfx100s has tons of soul. The webb just has an ugly and distracting diffraction pattern. that deviation from reality is useless for science.

I wonder why they don't run a signal filter pass over the images to remove the sunstars
it's supposed to be a scientific measurement after all, not just a pretty photo
or maybe they just don't for the general publicity photos?
or maybe they don't because they're just releasing raw data and it's supposed to be up to the researchers to clean it up for their purposes
