>>4232486>when you account for manufacturing costs, from buying material all the way to putting the product on the store shelvesthis includes labor costs aka. wages, benefits and payroll taxes paid to/for all employees
my mom does accounting, financing and logistics for our production line/factory, im more than familiar with this shit and my point still stands, this shitty bunch of plastic and metal for your camera probably takes a couple of minutes to make (in total) on highly likely 2 (or 3 at most) different machines and shouldn't cost more than 10-15 bucks.
and even if it costs 10 bucks... lets say it costs 10 bucks
1. that means if peak design manufactures 5,000 of these, that's 50,000 brutto aka. gross profit.
2. they spend approx. $500-550 on plastic and approx. $6,000-6,600 on inox aka. stainless steel. that adds up to about $7,200 AT MOST.
3. then after all engineering, material, labor, shipping, overhead costs, etc. etc... are accounted for and paid out, it should be no more than $20,000 in total, even for the biggest and most modern of factories.
4. all of that that adds up to approx. $27,000 AT MOST! lets round it up to $30,000 for the sake of the argument.
5. that means out of the $50,000 gross, they are left with AT LEAST $20,000 of 100% pure, net profit that goes right into the CEOs pocket.
AND THATS IF THE PEAK DESIGN CAMERA CLIP COSTED $10!
IT DOESN'T!
IT COSTS $80!
now imagine the net profit they roll every month by scamming people for buying a $10 product, aka. $2 worth of plastic and steel, for $80!
fucking shameless. just ignore them and order a random xing ping ming camera clip from alibaba or something. its the same shit same quality. (unless you can find an actually good, all steel camera clip for around 20-40 bucks)
