Hi /p/. Never posted here before, just coming for advice:

How do I take effective and flattering pictures of myself? Not simply selfies (selfies too, of course) but also 3rd person stuff. All the pictures I do have of myself are outdated or unflattering; I'd like to be able to take pictures that either make me look good (within reason) or communicate things about my interests and hobbies.

I guess I'm thinking in terms of dating apps like Tinder but it's also good to have them on hand. Profile pictures, social media and such. Even had a friend who wants to paint me and I have no good pictures to send her.

My phone takes okay pictures, might get a DSLR for other reasons soon.
