>>4232104I'm a fan of it, though I got use it for video more than for stills, and I'm used to a 5d3 with the vertical grip.
It's much bigger than a small camera, but not really any bigger than an average modern FF body, only it's a lot heavier, and the grip shape is not as ergonomic or comfortable as the 5d3's, so it's not nearly as comfortable to hold despite it being smaller.
Then again, it's not like Sony bodies are any more ergonomic, only they're lighter.
The sensor's quality is as good as it gets for the price, and you get more features than on other similar bodies, like the pixel shift function, which, if you're into shooting things that stay still and don't mind a tripod, is stellar.
If you're not looking to shoot video I'd certainly buy the S1R, and if you're looking for AF I'd consider an S5II or S5IIx or a Sony, with the S1 it's just about the same as not having it, plus AF-C doesn't work with adapted lenses, and AF-S is unusable for anything that moves, so this is not a camera to shoot action.
Lenses are few and far in between, if you like Sigma's offering you're golden, if you want a Panasonic lens you're going to pay a 100% premium for working AF-C compared to an adapted Canon EF lens, and if you want a long tele you're fucked, so if you want to adapt lenses Sony is, again, the better option.
>inb4 why did you get itI wanted a video camera and I got it for cheap, much cheaper than anyone could get an a7s3 or FX3 for, and everything about V-Log is splendidly convenient to work with, thanks Panasonic, though if you don't care about it the S1R is a great option for the price, you can also wait for the namefag selling abstract prints to show up and he'll tell you every reason why you want an S1R.
>>4232119The GH5 is a tad smaller, much lighter, and the optics are minuscule compared to similar FOV FF ones, especially Panasonic ones.
If there's one single thing you will take away from this, I'd like it to be that the S1 is a heavy camera.
