>>4234352>implyingThe pentax K1 is just a shitty meme camera. Can't replace shitty AF, can't adapt anything to K mount. Sorry cinefag.
Unfortunately there aren't many better cameras than this 5 year old $600 snoy except for the nikon z7ii/z8/z9, the canon r5, newer snoys, and medium format. It doesn't make business sense to switch systems immediately. The fix is religiously ETTRing and avoiding extremely tasteless HDR, because amplifying existing noise at ISOs 1000 and lower is the only way to really see it without retarded edits, and only in skies and pure black shadows. If this fucks up anything it would be people who try to do HDR sunsets in one exposure instead of bracketing like a good boomer. Noise gets consistent across the image at high ISOs that you wouldn't push anyways. The camera might just turn it off at some ISO level (aperture does nothing).
Please remember this is a curiosity that affected 2/1000 photos and both were binworthy shit anyways (worse than this). And the bands do reduce out along with all other noise. It shouldn't be in raws, period, but it's not ruining your day unless you're the worst photographer on earth.
You can barely, barely see it in this literal car window snapshit that was +1.5ev, saturation boosted, and cropped. I know what it is and where it is because i had the raw and could move the exposure slider around, but you probably can't tell it from the jpeg compression, noise, and normal SRGB banding. These are not settings or edits you would use for a good picture. This picture is garbage.
I'm just not buying any more lenses for snoy without confirmation that they fixed this eventually, ie: a7rv and a7iv, because snoy doesn't split the middle ground in lens pricing/quality as well as panasonic and nikon with their fully weather sealed standard primes, and investing in a flawed but expensive system is like buying a sportscar that might randomly drive like a toyota corolla once every 3 months.
