What cameras create this yellow date text on the bottom right side of the screen could you give me some examples?
I keep seeing these images pop up on the internet recently
I would love some names

The yashica my dad has has this date setting, pretty sure it only goes up to like 2010 or something. I usually turn it off but sometimes forget

It’s called a data back (sometimes spelled databack) and it was initially an add-on option on pro and prosumer SLRs that had trickled down to many point and shoot cameras by the the end of the film era. It was fairly popular as before EXIF it was the only way to automatically record when a picture was taken.

As well during the 90's and 2000's many point and shoot cameras came with it built in.
The original photo you posted looked looks like a random low megapixel point and shoot with a date function.
There is many early digital cameras that have that feature.

You can turn this on using many phone camera apps. It essentially burns in the date and time that's in the exif.

I also use a part of irfanview to do that same thing to photos for work. That way someone looking at it can tell when a photo was taken and whether a change that was made at one of our sites happened after a certain date.

As >>4235428 mentioned, a lot of older digicams do it as well. My Kodak DC215 from ~1999 has the feature, so if you really want to go for that "old digital" effect, it uses 4 AA batteries and CF cards, so you don't have to deal with any of that obnoxious proprietary stuff that's impossible to come by without spending more than the camera itself. Quick look at eBay showed a bunch of DC215s for within the $20 price range. Picrel is a shot I took with it over the summer at a local park. Unbelievably bright flash. The only real downside with it is the notoriously easy-breaking battery compartment door, and mine is held in place with tape from the previous owner. Apart from that it's a fun, easy, cheap digicam to get that "yellow text" effect.

It's a compact camera thing, the current powershot, rx100 still have that feature.
