>>4242019>>4242012Indeed, I've tried my friend's sony and was gifted a canon and they've got so many menus, dials, buttons, rings, many of which are multifunction. At this point, I can kind of shoot the canon, if I fix the ISO and use aperture priority, but I'm not at all confident with it, and the autofocus never gets what I want, when I want it, and the manual focus is nearly impossible to use without a focusing screen and an awful plasticky focusing ring. And yes, digital ISO does confuse me, chemical sensitivity makes more sense than sensor gain to me for some reason.
With dslrs/mirrorless everything is thrown in my face all at once, whereas with film, all I've gotta do is pick the appropriate film stock/ISO at the beginning of the shoot, twist the aperture ring to desired position, set shutter speed dial accordingly (or vice versa depending on situation), twist the image into focus, and fire. Easy to understand, and easy to control everything without taking my eyes off the subject.
