Looking at your pic, I think the d3500 kind of serves no purpose though. It's going to look characteristically very similar to the d700, but if you wanted more reach (idk if the d700 has a crop mode) then you could go M43, but if you wanted something more in the middle you already have another APS-C camera in the d200, but the d200 also has the upside of being a CCD giving it a unique character. So to me the d3500's only purpose is to function as a d700 crop mode. Which seems like a weak justification
