toyota holds #1 in reliability EVERY SINGLE YEAR, since 2004 aka. for almost 20 fucking years in a row now - and going strong.
my dad bought a toyota yaris for my mom back in 2001. that fucking car was never serviced, literally nothing on it broke ever. i got the car as my first car in 2014 and now it has 450,000+ km and i havent changed anything but oil, tires, brakes and air filters ever since I got it. the biggest issue we had with that car was passenger airbag light popping up on the dash and it turned out it lit up only because the wire got disconnected somewhow. that was literally THE ONLY and the biggest problem we had with that car since 2001. the car was NEVER serviced, EVER, for ANYHTING, since 2001, nothing but oil changes etc. i also know a shit ton of people who drive toyotas and they all say the same thing. im only now considering buying a new car and my new car will also be a toyota, highly likely the new RAV4... cant say the same for my friends who drive bmws, audis, fords, mercedes and so on.
speaking of RAV4, my boss bought his daughter the new RAV4 last year, she put the wrong fuel in it and drove the car like that for almost 20 minutes before the car gave up on life. they took it to the shop, they cleaned the whole system and i shit you not, literally nothing was damaged, not a single thing got damaged in the process. meanwhile other cars would blow 87 valves, 4647 pipes, 432 gaskets and 4758 other parts, ESPECIALLY BMW and other premium manufacturer cars.
toyota, lexus, vw and honda have always been known for reliability - especially toyota and lexus (lexus is owned by toyota btw.)
