I just bought my mom a camera, the Rollei e110. Notoriously fragile, her original one from the 1970s never advanced film reliably (bc a minute after receiving it for christmas, my grandpa looked at it and dropped it). I finally found a good one that actually works. It is her (& now my) fave 110 camera ever. 110 is el cheapo & has great character bc relative grain to img size is hummungous. Makes some of these old pics it took look like pointilism.

Runner up: Nikonos V. Superglue it on f22 for her & its a point & shoot. Also waterproof, shockproof, dipshit-proof, everything everywhere proof. Huge viewfinder for scuba gear & old blind people. TTL flash for oh who cares shes never going to use that shit anyway. That camera went thru wars and we still used them in the marines in 2012, bc they’re just tanks.

Hey anon what do I send this photo from my camera? Well axshjlly. You need to copy it off then we're gonna run it through light room to convert it to jpeg then we're gonna email it to your phone so you can send it as an sms to aunt Becky. It's fun and easy. Also you missed focus so rewind the clock and take a picture of the cat in the dryer again. Then post it on /p/ for approval.

My mom uses a nikon p1000 and loves it. Mostly for documenting birds and taking snaps when she goes for walks on the trails. I spent a couple hours going over the basics of exposure n stuff and showing her the different controls on the camera and she learned pretty fast cuz she used it every day. Really makes me happy to see my mom happy :)
