D700 has better ergonomics and more useful hardware dials and buttons on the front.

Also, 12MP FF is the perfect amount, any more is too much. D700 looks incredible even ISO 6400 while 5d ii looks bad.

Nikon has never had better ergonomics.

Both were fine at 6400, and both are about 1ev behind modern FF sensors in high ISO performance.
