Vegans fucking starve if international trade has a hiccup because humans can not gain adequate nutrients without consuming animal proteins. They at least need to eat eggs or something. Otherwise they're neurotically planning meals and importing out of season domesticated crops with the full knowledge that they will be malnourished without such effort, while insisting that their ancestors who could not do this must have been eating leaves because their hands evolved to kill instead of their teeth.
It is fundamentally human not to care if a rat dies. If anything it should make you hungry.
