>>4279757I have no intention of spending thousands of dollars on giant lenses (its even relatively expensive vs normal photography on m43) to take generic ID photos of the feather detail on birds against nondescript bokeh backgrounds (its even bokeh blasted on m43), but if I were you I would try using a smaller AF area and turning off contrast detect AF ("low light AF" in nikon menus). Either that or switch to a camera known for better autofocus like anything but a nikon (probably a sony because they are capable of putting real weather sealing on midrange lenses now)
However once I run into an area that has any life left I will be sure to take photos of birds that do not come close to filling the frame with a 135mm lens or something to sate you (because frame filling ID photos are gay, overpopulated, and unenjoyable artistically void slop)
Personally I think you should have had more motion blur on that bird and zoomed out to give context on what it was flying towards but that's not "bird photography" for most people now is it
