I need a compact pocketable camera with a viewfinder with at least 16MP. Closest thing I've found to what I'm looking for is the Lumix ZS series but the sensor is shit and everything comes out too noisy according to reviews. Any recommendation?

what does viewfinder mean to you? because there are brightline external finders you can clip onto compacts with flash shoes which might broaden your scope a little if you don't mind having all the exposure info on the screen

evf on the ricoh is fun. try it before you knock it. if you've ever used a film p+s then there isn't much difference, the viewfinders there generally didn't show you focus, just a green light if it could focus at all. i'm using a gv-1 and just turn off the screen and it is a much more engaging experience.

other suggestions are canon g5x ii with type 1 sensor with zoom.
canon g1x iii apsc sensor with zoom, sony a6000, fuji xe4 or oly gm5 but not really pocketable, last 3 slapped with flat pancake lenses. these are not pants pocketable unless y2k baggie pants, cargo shorts or joggers but it will hump and pound your leg while you walk.
