currently mulling over 'character' lenses, and, rightly or wrongly, am NOT going to be buying that has even a remote chance of being radioactive. so there goes pretty much 80% of anything prior to 1980s.
I'm going to get a helios. which is cheap and good.
but i'm also wondering does anyone know if there are any current manufacturers or series that forego sharpness in favour of character?
I used to think "softness at the edges" was a bad thing.... now i realise it's actually a stylistic/artistic preference that adds 'punctum' to the centre.
any help/guidance would be appreciated.
