Hi guys, I'm here to ask you about what camera I should buy if I want to begin in this world. Of course, I've been watching videos about cheap cameras and stuff like that. The matter here is that when you are getting into something, there is always amateur stuff that, once you are more into it, you realize it was not as good as it could be. Like in the guitar world, all the videos advise you to get the same 3 guitars, and once I've learned, I wouldn't recommend those guitars to somebody who's new to that. Same happens with PCs. Now that I've explained my thoughts, I would love to hear from you about what camera I should get. My budget is about < $650. I'm not from the first world, so stuff like this is even more expensive here, keep that in mind plz. Also, I want it just for photography, didn't really like video, so...

>>4318513 Damm, they look nice, but they are up $1000 :cc.
What do you think about sony a6000, is it too old?

>>4318515 >is it too old? No
>What do you think about sony a6000 I don't like Sony cameras, but lots of people do. I'm sure there is a more value-optimized option in the a6xxxx series, but I couldn't tell you what it was. You'll have to ask someone else

>>4318509 Find yourself a Panasonic Lumix LX3.
If you want to shoot pics like the one you posted it'll be great for that.
Very compact, portable, and durable which means it's wonderful for shows.
I took pic related with it.
I got mine for 85€ euro.

>>4318516 Right, by Sony being mainstream it is easier to find their cameras outside the us, ty nevertheless.
Around that price, is there any Fujifilm you could tell me? I like the fact they are kind of small, in order that I'd like to do urban suff.

>>4318517 Oh just to note as well, I have a beginner DSLR, the Nikon D3500 I fucking despise it. As soon as I got this point and shoot I stopped using it entirely.
Old good is better than new shite.

>>4318518 I wouldn't recomend anything lower than the x-t1. In my opinion once you get into the double digit fujis like the x-t10/20 you start to cross the boundary you described of 'good for beginners'

>>4318517 Dude I really like that pic 4real. Yeah, I'm into this urban style, indoors as well as outdoors, like the photo here. You think I could made it with the lumix?

>>4318523 Glad you like the photo.
You should definitely be able to do that, though you might want to bring a portable tripod if you're shooting at night.
Not sure if the exif data will come through on this photo, but it was taken handheld at night on the LX3.

>>4318524 This was taken on the LX5, but it's functionally the same camera as the LX3. The only difference is that the LX5 can zoom further, but it has a slightly softer lens.

>>4318517 >>4318524 >>4318526 btw, did you use any lens for the photos? Should I get one?

>>4318526 this is such a good image. You should start I thread, I want to see more of your shots.
>>4318530 he's convincing me too lol

>>4318530 It definitely can. In June I'll hit my 2 year mark of doing photography and for the last year and a half I've been using this camera exclusively.
You become a better photographer much faster when you constantly have you camera in your pocket.

>>4318531 Camera doesn't have interchangeable lenses so it's just the one attached to the cam. It's a great lens, extremely sharp for a zoom lens. It's a 24-70mm zoom lens. Has a maximum aperture of F2, so you can get a tiny bit of bokeh with the right distance to the subject. When fully zoomed it stops down to f2.8 which is honestly pretty good for a point and shoot.
>>4318532 Thanks! I might start a thread later in the week. I post most of my photos either here or on instagram @vanbrandenburg.photography
