did you know some new yorker didn't even invent street photography? it dates back to 1800s france and every other photography hobbyist (they have existed as long as cameras) has done it since then. you have been duped into thinking average hobby snaps were fine art just because the people who took them had connections with gallery owners and publishers.
ironically daido moriyama is often hated by people who hate street photography when he's one of the few that actually acts with some creativity instead of just being average hobby photographer: friends with rich people edition.
