They used to be well liked here, an x100 was the go-to sidekick camera for a lot of photogs, regardless of brand. The T2 and T3 were both solid releases, and Pro2 was iconic.
They used to be about Kaizen, breathing new life into older models. Updates are now mostly bug fixing, or in recent times, bug introducing. Film sims haven't made their way to older models, their cine X-H2s model lacks basic functionality (false color, anamorphic support, waveforms, etc), the X-Pro3 ribbon issues, etc. Their JPG processing is still not great if your priority is detail.
The tech side (mostly x-trans) is so unconvincing, there is a lot of misunderstanding. Early x-trans Lightroom support was not great, but there are so many options and improvements now. I see good and bad shit put out by every brand. If an X-T3 was good enough for Elle and Glamour covers, probably should be good enough for me. Look at the pictures here, most would still be the same crap regardless of x-trans, it's just a distraction more than anything.
Despite the faults, still one of my favorite brands with some of my favorite cameras. Ironically, the film sims they're so famous for are completely irrelevant for me. I'd only switch over to Nikon at this point, most brands just don't offer me anything meaningful. Even then, I prefer shooting with a T5 over a Zf in most cases.
