I'm entering a contest for a calander, and it states in the contest guidelines:
>Resolution should be high enough to accommodate a printed space of 9″ x 9″ at a resolution 300 dpi.

What size, format, resolution should I save my photo at to submit?

Go into photoshop, punch in 9x9 inches for the canvas size and set the resolution to 300 dpi
Now paste your image in there and give it to them as an uncompressed bitmap
