Reviwers don't know how to review a camera

I feel like there would be less gear-humping if YouTubers and the like actually knew how to review a camera.

Sample footage and field tests should really be the bread and butter when testing any camera, not just specs. Certain things like sensor size and lens mount are very unambiguous, but beyond that I think most people can't actually grasp what difference a given spec makes.

Exhibit a) Rolling shutter. I read lots of hubub about the Black Magic Pocket 4k having horrendous rolling shutter. People are quick to cite the 20ms readout time but nobody could actually convey what that looked like. Then I found this nerd on YouTube (pic related) who just put the thing on a tripod with a Red and GH5 for comparison. This is far more useful

I don't understand why most camera reviews are not just "here's 10 minutes of footage/images and how I made it." Could you imagine if Top Gear had no actual driving?

Also those test images on DP review I would argue are close. What good is pointing a camera at a bunch of lines and dots deliberately designed to screw which the sensor's processing? I truly only care about the real world here.
