go to craigslist, fb market, and thrift stores
buy as many shitty cameras as you can
sell them on ebay for enough for the 13% fee (which is calculated by including shipping) to still leave you with profit
eventually you will be able to afford a good digicam like a ricoh gr or a sony rx100

Zoomer trend thanks to social media. Much of that generation has never handled dedicated cameras before. Their only relationship with them are some photos taken by their parents when they were still in diapers before they chucked their digishitters in favor of mobile phone cameras. Therefore it is "le vintage look".
Then you have camera companies not having made such cameras for over half a decade causing a vacuum in the market, but it will get filled eventually.. people are cluing in and unloading as we speak.
>zoomzooms are first now starting to make money
>zoomzooms want cutesy cameras
>zoomzooms watches tiktok and sees party photos where people are bright white in their faces thanks to flash usage.
>zoomzooms feel the urge to post similar photos where you have the village people looking characters smiling with alcoholic beverages in their hands as to not being labeled as a loser.
Us millennifags have seen similar trends when we were their age, but the only difference is that we didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to get an old film camera, but that was pre-social media so the hype was nowhere near what it is now.

I haven't noticed it as much of a trend in my area. My friends and I have always had our families old digital cameras at parties since it's fun to look through the SD card at the end of the night.
I'd post some but I'd rather not dox my mates.

Fuji is laughing the way to the bank. They already had the perfect 'retro' line set up and mature, and they can't even make x100vi's fast enough to sell them. Crazy how they played well / got lucky.

I did ok in my younger years (sorry wizards) and what strikes me is how much fucking hotter girls were back then. I have heard various reasons for this...muttification, fatness, blah blah blah, but the point is that just from what I can see, young women are much less attractive now than they were in the 90s and early 00s.
But it's probably just nostalgia. At least my wife is fit.

I will say though, they take better pictures than most phone cameras. Megapixels do not tell the whole story. You also get an optical zoom.
