Can somebody decipher what this means and how this guy got this look on his film photo?
(this is his description of how he made that photo look like that)

is 1:50 12 min dev in rodinal weird in some way?

Also what is tainted film?

1:50 in Rodinal is pretty standard, the dev time is a bit long its usually 7-8 minutes, but I guess he developer longer for contrast.

Tainted film? I guess that the film got some water damaged or something, that is the light streaks you can see since they are too uneven to be light leaks.

He took it on his x100vi, shooting raw, lowered contrast, crushed the blacks, turned off sharpening, added fake grain, exported as a tiff and added the dust and scratches overlay and brushed in the fake light leaks in photoshop

what do you mean?
You clearly dont follow art.
At the high end you would be making your own black and white film with tons of imperfections then doing all sorts of weird stuff in developing it.

Thats alot of work so maybe this is easier depending on how hard it is to taint film and also how unusual that developing process is in that is it a fluke to get something usable, or thats not too crazy and you should generally expect something half usable.

I can't even find anything from his handle besides 1 or 2 showings in galleries let alone what he makes
Will say that is SIGNIFICANTLY more interesting than OP's image but that's due to the fact some of them are abject horror.
Like for example, this looks like shit and it's from the same gallery.

And to be honest I dont expect anybody on /p to understand how the OPs picture of the other ones posted here are art. One look at whats posted on /p clearly shows this board does not get art.

/p is way to obsessed with the qualities camera manufacturers keep selling them and has no concept their is more to a photo than that.

I did digital art for 8 years with company commissions for biomechanical designs and most of those were primarily displayed through major prosthetic companies, before transitioning to canvas for fun and focusing on my career in cybersec.

His tank might have been filled too little, or they did stand developing wrong, or they film was damaged before, maybe by humidity
Also happens if you use the wrong reel in your tank
