Just bought a camera

I recently went to a pawn shop and saw this Sony DSC-H50
First camera i buy as well.
Any Ideas for settings and how can i get good pics?
Camera had some fotos from some guy in USA, if u want to see them, tell me, but ain't that interesting.

Holy shit I got this exact camera as a present in like '08? '09? I still have it. If I weren't at work I'd post some pics. Unfortunately only shoots jpeg, but it's got some cool lofi aesthetics in some settings. In all honesty though, just play the fuck around with it and see what does what, it's the most fun way to learn and you might be surprised by what you get. Have fun!

Get some memory sticks or whatever it takes and experiment. Only you will know what you like and the only way to figure that out is to shoot. Don't be afraid to shoot in every mode and develop your own workflow. Old digicams and bridges are great for adding character to your shots.

Picture quality is comparable to a high tier smartphone from 2024 but with optical zoom and usable depth of field. Perfect camera for instagram.

For good pics using an aps-c or smaller sensor, with built-in lenses, take all of your shots in WELL LIT scenery. This is the ONLY way to ensure your photos will look good, due to the nature of the small sensor and questionable lens (it will have more issues called artifacting, lensing, aberration, and other similar lens and sensor related issues. Just learn with it as much as possible, in SUNLIGHT, or BRIGHT scenery.

Well, iso 400 technically looks like mft, but the colors and contrast are a lot more vibrant and the lenses render better on ff due to the focal length and larger pixels. i rec looking at whole photos not the noise in the bokeh.

It is. FF high ISO performance is still pretty bad. It's a bit better than MFT, and equivalence is a fucking lie (you rarely have to shoot equivalently, and if you do, if you have a different number of pixels or they are physically larger equivalence is broken and a waste of time to consider right then and there), but it's still just not very good in use. Not much better than film unless you're into extreme 200% pixel peeping and prioritize peach fuzz definition over whole scene rendering. Digital noise is actually worse than film grain. Film grain looks like the result of printing onto a natural medium, digital noise really fucks with the colors.

You really need medium format and 100mp if you want a camera that looks amazing in every realistic shooting situation instead of wedding photography grade snapshits with AI cope over ISO 800
