Just buying a replacement shitter for $15 is recycling. Also, electronic cameras are unironically more repairable. Mechanical mechanisms are way more finicky than "clean off this corrosion""replace the blown capacitor" or "apply heat to this solder and it will work again". It's more like "fabricate a spring with the correct tension and after determining what this indexer was shaped like machine a new one, and then try and reassemble it with the correct timing"
