it's just a long lens
you can tell by the relative scales of the people that it's a very narrow FoV
plus there's no way they'd let the crowd close enough to an airplane to be clearly reflected
it looks like you can see the barrier in front of the crowd reflected on the engine

Any candidate that wasn't trump or part of the biden club that couldn't be flat out told DO NOT RUN was systematically excluded from the race by the media, which is always in the pocket of one party or the other. It's a combination of the camera having a very long lens with the photo being taken from much further back making the front of the crowd seem much closer to the plane as they actually are, and the cilindrical shape of the reflective surface making the crowd seem much further away from the plane than they actually are. In combination it creates an optical illusion where there appears to be extreme disparity but it's just real-world phyics at work.
