Hi guys I want to do street photography but am afraid of getting my gear stolen.

Any tips on how to deal with this?

In order of priority:
>Don't take pictures in high crime areas

its like an invisibility cloak, you go from some weirdo lurking in a dark alley to just some guy smoking
you can even offer cigs to people as a peace offering, you cant really do that with anything else. but cigs just werk, even through language barriers

ofc it might depend where you are, but everywhere i have ever been, people just hang around smoking

If someone is gonna rob you, they'll do it. So don't worry about it. I wouldn't be walking around with full kit tho just a ahit lens, and a body, and a gorilla tripod.
