These are good photos in terms of composition but technically poor, too much grain, too many sharpening artifacts.

You have talent for spotting subjects tho, nice pictures when viewed at low size, just ugly when viewed at 100%

Gotta grow and educate my taste I guess. If you ask me, I fond thoses pictures beautiful, and I'm really humble while saying it. But it's from an unneducated eye. I barely saw / considered the flaws you pointed before you mentionned them. But now that you helped me, I'm documenting myself on how to improve my photo retouching skills

I think everyone does this, it's nice to have sharp pictures but overdoing it causes this staticky grain / noise / white hilights that look ugly when viewed at 100%

I would suggest that you make sure you're at 100% when you're adding sharpening, and more that pictures that have come from a phone really don't need any extra sharpening at all...

If you like the unsharp mask effect figure out how to use it for local contrast, that always makes things look nice if used sparingly

Can you imagine looking at large photos both close up and far away? Does everything need to be a 4x6 in your world? Looking at large things up close and far away to admire both the shape and the detail has been a staple of art since the dawn of civilization. Screens just changed the way we do it (by zooming instead of walking).

In the early days of photography, sharpening in post like this wasn't a thing. Anything with dense detail (most often trees) looks like SHIT with more than minimal sharpening and you don't need to pixel peep to see it, it's quite visible on 8x13.
If you feel like sharpening is necessary, create a mask around your subject and leave the rest alone.

Really like these two. Just as the other anon has said. Bit too much sharpening. It may look good on the smartphone screen but kinda hurts your eye when seen on PC screen.
Also contribooting. Took this one during walk around the city.

I learned more about selecting better settings when taking a shot. A lot of my photos looked "ok" in .jpg, but when reviewing the .raw, they were horribly over-exposed or under-exposed.
